Howling Dollhouse – All The Pieces

I am pleased to bring you an awesome band that has joined our Team PLASC project, Howling Dollhouse from Australia. They are a 5 man band that will rock your socks off. We have Trick belting out soulful vocals, Benjammin’ , heh, jammin on the guitar, Lee strummin’ the bass, Andy tappin those keys, and last but not least Azazel beatin’ out that rhythm on the drums. They are my favorite international rock band. They bring a fresh approach to rock with their heart and soul poured into their music. They have released ‘All The Pieces‘ for our upcoming Rock album set to release in August, with proceeds going to the Willow Foundation in the UK.

With lyrics like “You have all the pieces, you just need to break the drought. So blow the ceiling off and reach up for the clouds“, how can you not want to hear the rest. Much gratitude to Howling Dollhouse and all of the other bands for helping our project and The Willow Foundation. We look forward to working with you again in the future. Keep pumping out those great tunes!!

Glass Caves – Eboracum

Image

The next band up for review is the Glass Caves.

Coming from Yorkshire in the UK they bring an epic feel to the indie scene. Combining aspects from bands such as white lies, Glasvegas, Fleet foxes and the Cribs, GC blends soaring melodies with edgy and booming rhythms.

Although indie styled music isn’t my usual stomping ground, I fully appreciate talented musicians when I hear them.  GC‘s latest E.P. titled ‘Ebacorum’ produced by Roni Szpakowski over at Peak Studios(UK) shows great maturity for a band at such an young age. The E.P titled track Ebacorum oozes class. Solidarity in all aspects, great lyrics shying from generic lyrics and zero inclusion of terrible guitar tones often found in this style of music. Instead, creating a thick full beastly sounding track has clearly been achieved. Matthew Hallas on vocals could be described as sounding almost preacher like, keeping you transfixed for the duration. Some stonking harmonies just polish off one of the best songs around.

Match another absolute belter, gives you the Kings of Leon vibe. From the very opening bass line riffage spiced with a cracking over driven tone, it sets up to be a promising effort. It certainly does not disappoint, again rasping vocals set a dark feel that more than suit the album artwork. Also I have to mention the guitar work on this track, a solo which actually doesn’t sound A. Crap or B. totally out of place adds a whole new dimension. It makes this a song to remember not just a filler, definitely single worthy. You would have to go along way to find a better unsigned band than the Glass Caves, make sure you head to their shows.  I have played a few times with them and its not fun trying to sound anywhere near as good as them.

This band clearly is destined for bigger things, even though from what I gather the indie scene is on its arse.  These guys have too much talent to go unnoticed.  I don’t think they are far from producing that huge hit to spark off a career of playing great shows to big crowds.

For fans of : Glasvegas, Fleet Foxes, Kings of Leon, white lies.

Fading Point(AZ, USA) – ‘Forgotten’

We would like to take this opportunity and announce another band on board for #teamPLASC!! Fading Point is a local band from Sierra Vista, Arizona (USA) and has agreed to release an original track, called ‘Forgotten.’ This track will be added to our rock compilation album in support of the Willow Foundation. Band members consist of front man Mike Fabian on lead vocals backed up with Randy Brown on guitar, Tim Stinson on guitar, James Martinez on bass, and David Lea on drums. A band influenced of such bands as Pantera, Godsmack, Black Label Society and Korn, where can you go wrong?! If you’ve heard their other tunes ‘One Last Breath’ and ‘Trigger,’ you know that they can bring the heavy noise!! This is a great group of fellas that have helped us in projects in the past and have always supported us as well as us supporting them. We are so grateful to have them by our side once again!!

A special thank you goes out to Fading Point and all of the other artists/bands helping around the world and supporting this cause!!
